BlaQRhythm is an Afro and deep house producer, born and raised in Port Shepstone, KwaZulu Natal. He works with talented peers such as Babes Wodumo, Mampintsha, and Argento Dust, amongst others. For his latest EP “In The Jungle”, the young star draws on his own rich culture and unique sense of groove as he hooks up with some fine South African talents. And before that he was seen on TNS Phupholetu Album where they both went hard on “Umuzi“.
On the “In The Jungle EP”, BlaQRhythm decides to open the floor with his solo effort on his intense and steamy ‘In The Jungle’ song, which has heavy drums overlaid with chanting crowds. Buzzing synths bring tension. Everything about the track draws you in for an unpredictable ride. The excellent ‘Your Love’ features sometime-Black Coffee collaborator Karyendasoul. He is a multi-talented young DJ and producer from a small town in the Eastern Cape Province. Together the duo craft a gorgeous deep house track that has an epic breakdown. The soaring vocal from Nana Atta and richly layered synths send shivers down your spine. Last of all, BlaQRhythm links with Dawgpound for ‘Melody 25.’ As the title suggests, it’s all about the exquisite melodies, which extend skywards over chunky tribal drums and thundering bass.
