Dr Mthimba whose real name is Themba Mahlangu was born in Mpumalanga, South Africa, and was raised in Vosloorus. Mahlangu began his career as a DJ in 2011, venturing in the genres; Afro House and EDM. In 2018, he made his production credits by releasing his Ep, “I am an African” under the label, uBuntu Africa Production. In November 2019, he gained attention by releasing songs, “Izizwe” and “Grand Piano”, respectively, featuring guest vocals by the amapiano counterpart, Cop17. Following both songs, he continued his collaboration with Cop17 as he released the song “Ngithanda wena”, on 15 July 2020. ANd today combining efforts with Madunusa simply shows how established he has become.
Madunusa on the other hand have been one of the best vocalist when it comes to the amapiano music, with countless hit tracks on his name and journeying with Dr Mthimba on Thabang is indeed not a bad way to kick-start the new year.
